Land Use, Transportation and Economic Development (LUTED) Initiative
In order to help make the most strategic investments and efforts for land use, transportation, economic development and conservation, state and regional agencies have been working together on the LUTED initiative. The goal is to coordinate these activities and yield high impact and benefits for communities and regions.
In 2003, a statewide conference was held with 230 participants that laid the foundation for the LUTED initiative. Below are reports with conference outcomes:
- 2003 Conference on Transportation and Land Use for Economic Development – Report – May 28, 2003
- At-A-Glance – Brief overview of the results from the 2003 Conference on Transportation and Land Use for Economic Development.
- Action Plan – Action plan developed through analysis of the recommendations made at the 2003 Conference on Transportation and Land Use for Economic Development.
In the spring of 2005, DCED partnered with PennDOT to hold LUTED conferences in each of nine different regions in the Commonwealth. Over 500 community leaders attended the conferences and identified specific objectives and action steps for each region. View the regional conference reports:
Each of the regions is now developing a LUTED regional action plan identifying specific short- and long-term strategic priorities. As plans are completed, reviewed and released, they will be posted.
