The Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program (PennTAP) helps Pennsylvania companies improve their competitiveness, by providing a limited amount of free technical assistance to resolve specific technical questions or needs, while it facilitates connections to other relevant information, resources and/or programs. PennTAP is a statewide network of geographically-dispersed technical specialists with expertise in a variety of focus areas, including advanced information technology, environmental compliance, energy efficiency and conservation, operations improvement, occupational safety and health, product development, federal Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer proposal development, technology transfer and commercialization. The program focuses on smaller businesses that typically lack the expertise and/or resources to address these types of issues in-house.
