Alternative Fuels
With a competitive push to produce and consume one billion gallons of homegrown fuels, Pennsylvania is establishing its place in this growing market. This initiative will invest in PA's ethanol and biodiesel feedstock producers, manufacturers, and the transportation infrastructure companies who will ultimately ship the final product. Over the next decade, we'll add 900 million gallons of domestically produced fuel to the United State's supply.
Natural Gas
Beneath the Pennsylvanian soil, you'll find one of the largest unconventional gas deposits in the world. Estimates suggest that there is enough fuel in this 600-mile deposit to supply the entire United States for at least fourteen years. And being in such close proximity to high population areas of PA, New Jersey, New York and New England only increases the economic significance of this development. This transportation advantage, along with the development of numerous natural gas electric power generators in the region, stands to strengthen PA's role in the marketplace.
