Industrial Resource Centers
Created in 1988, the Industrial Resource Centers (IRCs) receive annual Commonwealth funding to provide an array of technical assistance to small and medium sized manufacturers in Pennsylvania. These services are provided by the IRCs directly or through a network of regional consulting firms and may include:
- Market analysis and development, strategic planning
- Product development assistance
- Selection, implementation and optimization of available technologies
- Production, planning and inventory control
- Quality assurance and improvement (ISO certification assistance) and LEAN manufacturing
- Supply chain development
- Training and workforce development
- Information technology services, e-business, website assistance, and CRM assistance
